The newly renovated Cinematheque is an intimate movie theatre devoted to screening the very best in Canadian and world cinema. More than just screening films, we also provide artist talks, panel dicussions and special events to feed the minds of cinema fans.
Cinematheque has been operated by the Winnipeg Film Group for over 26 years. The Winnipeg Film Group was founded in 1974 and is a charitable, artist-run organization committed to promoting the art of cinema. We have a special focus on supporting Winnipeg, Manitoba and Canadian filmmakers, and our Cinematheque programming reflects this value of supporting home-grown artists.

First Fridays in the Exchange District
A free, year-round, once-a-month event in the Exchange District & Galleries-along with cafés and small businesses-open their doors to the public.
This event is on the first Friday of each month from 5 to 9 p.m.
